Data controller

Advocate Darius Ališauskas, Law Office of D. Ališauskas DALEX, Laisvės pr. 79E-3, Vilnius, Lithuania. For privacy questions, contact info@apostile.lt.

Information we receive and purposes

When you enquire, we receive your name, email address, optional telephone number, document type, country where the document will be used, message and, if you attach one, a document copy. We use this information to respond and assess the procedure, price and timeframe; if you order a service, we use it to perform the service, deliver documents and meet accounting obligations. The legal bases are steps at your request before entering into a contract and performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), legal obligations for accounting (Article 6(1)(c)), and, where necessary, our legitimate interest in administering correspondence or defending legal claims (Article 6(1)(f)). The form checkbox acknowledges this notice; it is not consent to marketing.

Send only the information needed for an assessment. Where possible, conceal personal identification numbers and other unrelated details. We do not ask for special-category data, such as health information, through the general form. If such information is necessary for a particular service, we will assess its legal basis and secure transfer separately. Professional secrecy applies to the advocate’s work.

Form operation and retention

The form emails your enquiry to info@apostile.lt; it does not create a separate public enquiry database. An optional PDF, JPG or PNG file (up to 8 MB) is kept temporarily in a non-public server location and deleted when the sending attempt ends. The message and attachment remain in the mailbox. If no service is ordered, we delete the enquiry email and attachments from the mailbox within 12 months of the last correspondence, unless a specific dispute or legal obligation requires longer retention. If a service is ordered, order and accounting records are kept for the periods required by applicable law; unnecessary extra copies are removed when the work ends. The required period and any need to defend claims are assessed according to the type of record.

Recipients and international transfers

Access is limited to staff and providers needed for the service: website and email hosting and IT support providers and, for an order, couriers, translators, notaries or competent document-certifying authorities as necessary. We disclose data to public authorities where required by law. We do not send the contents of your documents to Google Analytics or Google Ads. Browsing data for statistics and advertising are processed only according to your cookie choices. In some cases Google may process data outside the EEA subject to applicable transfer safeguards. See our cookie policy.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure or restriction of processing and, where applicable, object to processing or request data portability. These rights may be limited where retention is legally required or professional secrecy applies. Contact info@apostile.lt. You may also complain to the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
