Electronic apostille in Lithuania

From 1 October 2026, Lithuanian notaries are expected to be able to issue electronic apostilles for electronic documents signed with a qualified electronic signature and/or certified with a qualified electronic seal.

What will not change?

The procedure for paper documents remains in place. An electronic apostille will apply only to eligible electronic documents and will be issued by notaries through the e.Notaras system.

This service is planned to take effect on 1 October 2026. Until then, the information describes a future procedure.

Not sure which procedure applies?

Send a photo of the document and tell us where it will be used. We will confirm the procedure, price and realistic timeline before any work begins.
